Spring is awakening the lily pads, but the grasses are not alive yet!

Shany Porras (www.number5studios.com) creates small to large abstract paintings inspired nature found near her home outside Boston, MA. Influenced by Modern architecture, and Post-impressionist art, Shany enjoys bringing an abstract aesthetic to her work as an artist, while still balancing her need to make her art approachable by just about anyone. Shany studied art and architecture at Rice University in Houston, Texas, where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.). Her paintings and drawings were first shown at an art gallery in New Orleans while she was still in college.
