Rarely is Stockbridge Bowl so still that the water looks like a mirror. I was lucky to experience this and thought about how wonderful it is to be on a lake alone, as the last boat, seeing the water sitting still.

Shany Porras (www.number5studios.com) creates small to large abstract paintings inspired nature found near her home outside Boston, MA. Influenced by Modern architecture, and Post-impressionist art, Shany enjoys bringing an abstract aesthetic to her work as an artist, while still balancing her need to make her art approachable by just about anyone. Shany studied art and architecture at Rice University in Houston, Texas, where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.).
